Met Gala 2013

Red Carpet Obsessed

I love this velvety blue Stella McCartney on Cameron Diaz not only because of the color but most importantly the black and gold spikey belt.  Her make up is flawless and simple--matching the dress perfectly.

Surprise Anne Hathaway in Valentino.  I am adoring the blond hair.  So fierce and so bad ass.

Kelly Osbourn in Marc Jacobs.  Black and yellow pairing is always a winner.

Gucci Première. So obsessed with the feathers, the black and the pale green

Spring Wardrobe Must Haves

2013 Spring Trend Report

These wardrobe pieces are much needed to make your spring looks fresh and current.  We're showing you how to make these trends work even if you're on a budget.

Black & White
Beyoncé rocked her color blocked black and white at the Grammy's, Jessica Alba played on checkered, and Micheal Kors gave us vertical and striped.  You can even play on the trend with a pair of Lamb pumps.  Can you resist?

Neon
An accented neon clutch can go a long way or go all in with neon. The brighter the better.

Leather
Wear it as shorts, skirts, or a blouse.  2013's leather trend doesn't have to stop at Winter. Continue the trend this Spring with these items.

Kimmy K Nod

I saw this Kim Kardashian maternity look and was immediately obsessed. This vibrant blue, tan, and shimmer is all kind of amazing. The looks makes me want a bun in the oven.  Major nod Kimmy K, major nod.

MINTED EXCITEMENT

Splash into spring with these incredible infusions of mint green.  In case you missed it, she's back for another season! Yay! It can easily be infused in any ladies wardrobe and screams light and airy fashion.  Minted green pairs amazing well with just about any color.  The only thing missing is my minted chocolate chip ice cream cone.

Jackson's Fashion

Over the past 20 hours The King of Pop's death was been texted, twittered, facebooked, myspaced, blogged, and translated in 800+ languages over a million times. The spread of this viral message has caused fans and admirers to recall their favorite album, video, song, and dance of the controversial, yet entertaining artist.

I'm not going to sit here and write like I was the biggest Michael Jackson music fan.
I mean, I did know some songs.

But don't get me wrong, over the past couple hours I've found myself getting chills as people blast their fave MJ songs. I even found myself reflecting on the impact Michael made to music and our society.

As we spend the next days, weeks, months, or years remembering the great pop icon, fashionsixthsense ask that you not only "play" tribute to his music, but his staple fashion moments.

Whether you loved it, hated it, or didn't get it, you knew MJ fashion from a sold out concert away. His outrageous fashion statements were universally duplicated and celebrity imitated.

When you think white glove...what smooth criminal have you been hit by?

When you think black fedora....what man in the mirror do you see?

When you think of clothing being sparkled, embellished, and bedazzled...it's not necessarily off the wall?

The man was doing military inspired lapels and jackets long before Balmain and other designer knock-offs.

Another all favorite, red leather with zippers galore.

May his music and fashion live on.

Waisted, Boyfriended and Cropped. Oh My!

Has anyone noticed the resurgance of cardigans this
summer '09?
They emerged in Spring and are sticking around for June, making serious impressions on female summer wardrobes alike. But they aren't the cardigans I remember.

When I was young I can recall making many 'a mad dashes for the front door in an effort to bypass my over protective mother before she would routinely stop me to assess my ensemble for not only appropriateness in nature (her and I never agreed on modesty) but appropriateness in unforeseen weather changes.

"Your arms are exposed." "You need a jacket." "What if it gets chilly?"  "Go up and grab your cardigan."

Always the same request in the same shrill tone.

Back then, adding a cardigan/jacket/bolero was a sure fire way to ruin any Saturday night ensemble. I was convinced that was my mother's sole motivation.

But, cardigans are not what they used to be.
They are hothip. and ultra stylish
It's a necessity for playing the lead role in, Not Trying To Be Stylish But Aware Of Style.  Starring yours truly, The Cardigan.

They are THE spring/summer sexy accessory.

And we all have the boyfriend cardigan to thank for it.

Even the basic waist hitting cardigan paired with a skinny or boyfriend jean has style and sex appeal.

As I sit and ponder the rebirth of this great piece of threads I loathed not less than twelve years ago, my mind can not help but wonder. Who brought it back?

A vision appears: a woman with a tall stature, kitten heels, knit skirt, J.Crew sequenced tank and wide waisted belt atop a colorful cardigan. Who is that I see?
Mrs. Obama.  Has Mrs. O's signature look forced us all to channel our inner cardigan?

Annie Leibovitz photographed America's first lady wearing her classic peach for the Vogue centerfold spread.

And it looks like Victoria Beckham took a page out of the cropped cardigan handbook.

Whether it was Beckham or Obama who started the trend, I'm equally excited about the come back.  Who would have thought I would have near the thrill of requesting my husband stop the car so I can run inside to grab a staple piece. my cardigan

The saying Momma Knows Best rings steadily in my ear.

Jimmy Choo meets H&M

Oh my yumminess! Arriving just in time for X-MAS 2009, H&M will begin carrying an EXCLUSIVE line of Jimmy Choo shoes, bags, and accessories. British accessory brand, Jimmy Choo will join H&M's tall list of high-end designer collaborations. Past partnerships have included collections by Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, Roberto Cavalli, Viktor&Rolf, Karl Langford and Stella McCartney.

Though Jimmy Choo is not the first luxury brand to sign on and create more affordable collections made accessible through H&M stores; it will however, be the first designer in the luxury shoes category. The collection will feature apparel made to complement the accessories-another first for H&M!

Don't be sad boys, the fun is not limited to strictly crystal encrusted heels and leather totes in delicious fall colors. A men's collection will also make its debut in stores.

The Jimmy Choo collection will be launched in 200 H&M locations worldwide on November 14th-and so begins the countdown!
